We’ve been visiting the Wedgewood Inn for over 10 years (at least 30 visits!).  I guess you could call the Inn our home away from home.  It’s our first choice destination when we need an escape from the stresses of the city and the work world (we’re from D.C.) -- we cannot think of any other place we’d rather go.

One of the best things about the Inn is that it allows dogs. Dogs love the Inn and the town of New Hope.  Everything a dog needs is at its doorstop -- walks on the canal and a doggie gourmet shop on Main Street.

For humans, there are great restaurants, galleries, and shops.  A local artist has painted portraits of both our dogs.  If you love gardening, you couldn’t be better situated -- garden centers abound (one within walking distance of the Inn).  Last but not least, we love the Inn because of the warm welcome we always receive from Dinie and Carl and their staff. There’s a lot to be said about a place “where everyone knows your name.”  -- Val and Ed, Washington, DC

Please read this thoroughly so both you and your pet --- and other houseguests and our staff, will be safe, happy and grateful.  Please remember: You are liable for your pet at all times and also responsible for damage, injury or lost revenue due to your pet. There is a $30 per night charge for your pet.

Hello,

We stayed at the Wedgewood two years ago, 9/6/09 and actually got engaged there :-) We enjoyed ourselves so much we'd love to come back and I was wondering what the availability of room A was for the evening of 9/4/11? We would be traveling again with our wonderful dog Sadie who stayed with us then as well. I've attached a picture from our last visit.

Please let me know availability and the cost to reserve for the three of us. I'm trying to surprise my husband just like he surprised me then!

Thanks in advance,

Tracy

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Have a great stay!

New Hope's 1870 Wedgwood Collection of Historic Inns can accommodate a 'well behaved and well traveled' pet.  These selected guest rooms have the same antiques, original art, fluffy comforters, etc. that the rest of the Inn has.  They also have a special amenity liked by both 2 and 4 legged house guests: a private porch or a separate entrance as well as a main door through the Inn.

Most of our pet guest experiences have been 100% positive.  Please read the following guidelines developed over the 20 years of serving our four legged friends.  We have learned that a guest room at an Inn with strange noises and other humans coming and going is not at all like being left alone in your personal home.

Hi Carl,

"It was nice meeting you and your mother. Here are all the Cotons and their mommies at the Wedgwood last weekend. Your staff was warm, friendly, and very helpful. We all really appreciated it."

Sincerely,

Valerie

  • Shampoo / Flea Dip prior to arrival.
  • Bring along a water dish, food, favorite toy, familiar bedding, an extra blanket to throw on the floor or bed, and a travel cage.  It is not appropriate for your pet to sit in our chairs or lie on our coverlets and comforters.
  • Always keep your pet on a leash while on Inn grounds and near others. Other adults, children or another pet may fear your animal.
  • Do not leave your pet in a room unattended or out of its travel cage; All guests are entitled to the 'quiet enjoyment' of the Inn.
  • Most restaurants with outdoor seating allow you to bring your pet. Others bring food back to the Inn. (Sometimes a seat in your shaded car while you dine is appropriate too.)
  • Exercise your pet in the fields across the street, not on Inn grounds. NOTE: there is a 'pooper-scooper' law in New Hope.
  • Wipe paws and check for ticks before returning. Ask your Innkeeper for towels.
  • Please fax us documentation from your vet that shows up-to-date vaccinations.  Fax to: 215-862-3937.
